Girl Scout Cookies

The Wall Street Journal says that after years of product line proliferation, the Girl Scouts will be selling only six varieties of cookies this year. Some of the new flavors weren't very good, so I am not complaining as long as they keep the Thin Mints.

My favorites are Thin Mints; I buy Thin Mints and Samoas for my girls every year - twelve boxes total. The Cookie Mom in my office loves me. We pay $3.75 a box in the National Capitol Region; how much are they where you are?

One of the Keebler cookies is supposed to taste like Thin Mints, but that is difficult to believe. Have you eaten them frozen? Mmmmmm.
I'll have to ask Lord B. how much they cost, but the Wall Street Journal said that they had gone up to 4 bucks a box. For a while I was getting cookies imported from the National Capitol Region because my niece lives in Maryland.

Somebody brought in a box of Mint Oreos the other day; they were ummmmscrumptious.

Our Thin Mints live in the freezer. One year I surprised myself by finding a tube of them buried back behind the chopped spinach. Thin Mints in September! An out-of-season treat!

My sister Ann used to be a Cookie Mom, and her house would be filled with cookies once a year. We used to help out by buying the leftover stock.

$4 a box in NY, but they're going to a particularly good cause (a Girl Scout troop for young 'uns with disabilities).

Has anyone else been able to compare Thin Mints on the west coast with the ones on the east coast? Apparently they're made by two different manufacturers; they're definitely different.

Yes, there are two different bakeries (Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers), but I don't know if they use the same recipes.
I don't mind the price--I consider most of it a donation to the Girl Scouts. Though I'm not going to tell how much they cost back when I sold them, lol.

I loved the lemon cremes when I sold them - mum had to get a few boxes for the family and carefully ration me. It's one of the things I really dislike about being diabetic - I shouldn't be eating that stuff, and now it's February so it's testing will power.

Lemon cremes are good, but I loved the Lemon Coolers (which were tangy cookies dusted with powdered sugar) which sadly have been discontinued.
