Film: Thor
"Thor" is a likeable movie, flashy and fun. Chris Hemsworth makes an adorable thunder god. His confused reaction to life on Earth is especially well done. Though initially disoriented by his sudden arrival, his actions reveal his basic decency. Anthony Hopkins carries the role of Odin with gravitas, in spite of his cheesy costumes (though if I were the ruler of the gods, I'd demand something better than gold lamé). Stellan Skarsgard (squee!) portrays a kindly and sensible academic. We didn't see the 3D version so I can't say whether the technology was used effectively.
Rating: Four hammers (out of five)

The only use I ever had for Proust after having to read his work came in watching a Monty Python episode, with the 'Summarize Proust In A Bathing Suit' beauty contest, which made me laugh.
Proust. In A Movie. For Real. ARRRRGGGGGGGHHHH. To paraphrase the comic-book Thor of my youth - I Say Thee Nay! (may it never happen)
I haven't seen the Thor movie. Maybe I should.

I say thee nay
Hee! I remember 80s Thor because I briefly dated a guy who read the comic books. Thor's life was complicated, to say the least.
