Guitar Heroine
Dec. 28th, 2010 01:25 pmYes, the guitar arrived this morning! And it looks and sounds very pretty. A number of reviewers complained that the guitar bag didn't have enough padding, but it is slightly oversized so I can easily add cushioning of some kind, maybe even cut some foam rubber to fit.
Tuning was easy, and the guitar stays in tune well for having new strings. The electronic tuner is the cutest little thing with an indicator for each string. I haven't watched the instructional DVD, but I plan to because it is supposed to teach you to play the theme from "Mission:Impossible." One of the great classics of the literature. :D
I found some beginning tabs and have been noodling around with "House of the Rising Sun" and "Sounds of Silence." I'd like to take at least a few lessons. I submitted an online application to the music institute's continuing education department but haven't heard back from them yet. If they don't have any spots available, I will take lessons through a local music store.
