Boromir's Return by Osheen Nevoy
*******************************
Years ago, in the wilds of ff.net, I stumbled across a Boromir Lives! fic that was a work-in-progress. Even back then it was very long--hundreds of thousands of words--but it was clearly not near completion. I had found the writer through the lovely reviews she had written for one of my fics. I wanted to read her magnum opus, but I was relucant to tackle such a long work-in-progress after reading too many fics that were never completed. Six years later, she seems to be closing in on the finish (at over 400K words!), so two weeks ago, I started reading it. This story is so many kinds of wonderful--funny and exciting and full of heart. Her characterizations of Boromir and Denethor are right on target, and I am jealous of her ability to write fight scenes. I don't want to give anything away, but her writing is both wildly imaginative and highly realistic. I was thoroughly hooked after the first chapter and am now about halfway through.
