Heard the first firecracker of the season last night. The Fourth of July is a season, not just a day, in my neighborhood.

When I go to Sally's for the 4th I can sit in her kitchen and watch fireworks displays from three different towns. It's super and I don't even have to put on shoes.

Some years we can see bits of fireworks displays from our upstairs windows. I can hear someone's (illegal) fireworks even as I write this.

Our minor league baseball team (whose games we attended much more frequently BEFORE we lived here, what the heck) has huge fireworks displays after their weekend games. If we wanted to plunk ourselves down in our back parking area in our lawn chairs we'd have a great view!
